My story to start this neha’s studio.
Priority to coming to the United States, I was a music teacher in some very prominent international schools in Mumbai teaching children Indian music. So when I moved to the United States in 2011, I was looking for teachers who were doing the same. To my surprise, most of the piano teachers were focusing on teaching how to read notations. From experience, I know how difficult it is to maintain interest in the instrument while learning to read notations. And I thought to myself that there ought to be a better way. Then I stumbled upon Simply Music style of teaching and I immediately knew that it will benefit a lot of students if they can learn to play Piano using the methodology laid out by Simply Music founders. I then joined the Simply Music team as one of their licensed instructors.

Neha's Music Studio?

Almost all the music studios in Bay Area focus on only 1 kind of music for an instrument. For example, most piano teachers focus on teaching how to read notations for western classical music. In some other cases, teachers focus on a particular curriculum that they follow.My teaching style helps me offer 2 unique things to my students. In my case, even though I follow Simply Music curriculum and its teaching style, I maintain a balance between western foundation and pop/Indian music. This helps me keep my students engaged and maintain their interest levels at peak. Also, teaching them some pop/Indian music helps the entire families get engaged in the learning process since many of these pop songs come from playlists that the families love to listen to.

I understand and strongly believe that each student has his or her own strengths and weaknesses. Hence, I am able to tailor the program according to the needs of each student. Also, I see my success as closely tied to the success of each student. So I make sure that I am personally invested in the development of each student and ensure I give personal attention to each student.

My 8 yo son has been learning from Ms Neha for a year now. My daughter Syona started learning piano virtually with Neha, I wasn’t very hopeful knowing my daughter’s attitude.
